From the Tewksbury semi-final programme

| On behalf of everyone at Hoylake RFC, I would like to extend a warm and
cordial welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Tewkesbury RFC.
Congratulations must go to both clubs for reaching the semi-finals of the Tetley Vase and I know whoever is the victor today will make worthy finalist at Twickenham. It is no mean feat for any team to reach the semi-final out of 500 starters and the players and coaches should feel justifiably proud of themselves. Our thanks must go to Tetley, the event sponsors, not only for today but also for the whole competition. Without this level of sponsorship, and organisation by the RFU, clubs at our level would never have the opportunity to play in such an interesting and lively competition. The possibility to play at Twickenham is every players aspiration and it is this dream that has sparked everyone's imagination and aroused so much interest. I know today's competition will be fierce culminating in Finally, I would like to thank our match officials for their time and effort. It is worth remembering that without them these games would never be possible. Good luck to both teams.
